Wreath Series

As an item of cultural significance, wreaths are synonymous with the festive season and Yuletide decoration. However I wanted to explore the possibility of creating a series of wreaths that could be enjoyed as artworks all year round. I wanted to push the limits of working with delicate materials and create works that felt wild and free.

Wreath making can be painstaking and technically challenging, yet this gives way to the pleasure of engaging in time honoured craft processes. Many thanks to Larissa Hrstic for her creative input in the development of this series.

See a selection of wreaths from this series at "Wildflower: Medium and Muse", an exhibition of works by The Roseologist and Lauren Sutton, at Barton ArtBox 2-10 November 2024, Canberra
